I was sorting through some images from Cuba and I run across this one. I shot it on my first full day in Havana. I was leaving my room at the private home I was staying in when I looked over the balcony and was greated by the scene below. I wondered for a second what was going on.. But time was pressing and I had to go meet my translator so I snuck my camera through the metal rails of my balcony and took three shots of the scene below....and promptly forgot about the encounter.
Now 4 years later I look back on the image and I wonder what exactly he was doing....what he was working so industriously at fixing...what the story was with the bird hanging above his head. I wish I had taken the time to pause and enjoy the scene below me...maybe call down and wave at him. Lesson learnt.
