Cambodian Weaver

August 18, 2014

The art of weaving is one that was prevalent in many of the regions I travelled to in Cambodia.  The first time I encountered it was when I met this lovely lady on Silk Island.   Ironically she wasn't weaving silk but cotton.   From what I learnt the cost of weaving silk was becoming prohibative so she had started to weave cotton instead for a larger profit.

It was amazing to see her skill.  The fluidity with which she moved, the dedication that it takes to do the work she does.  She had such talent and it was impressive to watch her do her thing.

In time I hope I am as talented with my art as she is with hers.
