It is International Dog Day, and the kids are insistent I wax poetic about them. Since they can't read, here is the truth. Carmela is currently in the center of my king sized bed...she has managed to ruck 4 pillows and 2 king sized duvets into a mound that she is currently lounging in. I've been relegated to the top left corner of the bed...no pillows or blankets. She does occasionally deign to lean over to demand pets, kisses and endless praise. I'm so very lucky.

Leroy Brown is one floor down screaming bloody murder at the front door. He thinks be heard a leaf blow past the door. He woke up on the asshole side of the bed today. Today he woke me up by slamming his solid little piglet body into my face and then writhing all over it. I'm still spitting out fur from my mouth and pulling it from my nose. He was also sure to bash me with one of his many stuffed toys...just incase the body slam and writhing didn't do their job.

Despite their epic jerk-worthiness, I absolutely adore and love both of these shits. I love how they confidently do all the bad things. They know they are 100% loved and will get away with it. They bring me such joy. If I am honest they are a very big part of what makes my life so enjoyable. I spend the majority of my day talking to the two of them (yes I voice both sides of the conversation).

It's gotten so I'm so much better at dogging than peopling. But I'm not so far gone that I don't realize that some of the things the pups and I say to each other shouldn't be said to people. Like while play fighting it is perfectly ok to blow on Leroy or Carmela's butt and yell "I blowded up your butt."....while making explosions noises. People don't take kindly to things like that. That is strictly a dog thing.
