Community Garden

La Gonave Community and Child Association (LGCCA) is a Canadian Non Profit Organization and is in the process of becoming a Canadian Registered Charity. It is operated by volunteers who have recognised the endless cycle of poverty facing the communities on La Gonave Island (Haiti) and who are now taking action.

The efforts of this group has had a significant effect in meeting their mandate to:-

  • Support the children in ASHOG Children’s Home

  • Provide a home for more destitute children on La Gonave.

  • Support families in order that they need not send their children to be domestic servants or to orphanages by gifting goats for sustainable income.

  • Work with local Haitian groups on community projects.

  • Plan to provide a ‘Snacks at School’ program for the children at Morne Augustin School.

  • We have fund-raised for a well at Roche campe and it will be drilled early 2015.

  • We are trying to get a food donation program established for the 20 residents of the Poor House.

  • A community garden to provide food for the children, the Poor House and income for the farmers and their families.

Hugabull Advocacy & Rescue Society is a registered non-profit organization and a community of pit bull owners, advocates and enthusiasts. Our mission is to rescue dogs, provide public education, and build a community of responsible pit bull owners and supporters.

We rescue bull breeds from the shelter system, placing them in foster care and ultimately adopting them into responsible, loving homes.

We organize events, reach out to media, and provide information about the potential of this wonderful breed. We also provide support to pit bull owners and encourage responsible dog ownership across all breeds.

Through our blog and forum, our supporters can network and share resources. We also organize events like barbeques, group walks, holiday celebrations and Canine Good Neighbour evaluation sessions.

HugABull operates primarily in Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island, and serves the entire province of BC.
