ENCAUSTIC
Encaustic painting, involves heating a mixture of beeswax, damar resin and pigment and using it to paint. The liquid medium is then applied to a surface and fused using a heat gun or propane torch. The medium also lends itself well to having various materials embedded in it.
Yes...I've singed hair, burnt my hands and generally done every horrific thing you can imagine. But it is all worth it.
