My version of a Portrait

Part of my journey as a photographer and artist has been finding what drives my curiosity. I remember participating in a studio lighting class 2 years ago and being bored out of my gourd by everything especially the staged portraits. They seemed so bereft of any story....or passion. So I skipped the headshots and studio lights...and took the opportunity during my turn to learn more about my model...the story behind the scar to her left knee and the most amazing knitting tattoo to her leg. She was a beautiful and elegant woman. To me, this portrait tells me more about her than her face
