As legend would have it, when Peter O'Toole met his costar Omar Sharif on the set of their movie "Lawrence of Arabia" and refused to believe that Omar was the Egyptian’s real name. “Omar Sharif! Nobody in the world is called Omar Sharif! Your name must be Fred.” And from that moment a great friendship was born, and Omar became known as "Cairo Fred" to O'Toole.
